2007.04.04 - Sirenia recently released their fourth album, "Nine Destinies And A Downfall". For this latest effort, Morten Veland (ex-Tristania) and his bandmates added vocalist Monika Pedersen from Denmark, and she sings most of the songs, giving the gothic metal album a different sound from the first three releases. 2006.12.14 - Nilaihah Records is releasing next week an amazing "compilation" of 4 of their label bands with 4 tracks each, aptly titled "FOURPLAY". The album took quite a while to complete, but they are confident in its strength and can easily say it was definitely worth the wait! XP8, Ghost & Writer (Frank Spinath of Seabound / The Weatherman), GASR and Interface all join to each offer 4 brand new tracks; 16 total on the album.

2006.09.27 - Australian band Angelspit's new album is now available. Krankhaus includes 14 tracks of blisteringly fat synths, with angry distorted beats and scathing vocals, which outline themes of horror, medical experimentation and the beautifully grotesque. The album comes with a sixteen page colour booklet featuring luscious photography and detailed artwork. The music and imagery of "Krankhaus" is complex, rich and disturbing.

2006.09.06 - Synthcere Records was created for the sole purpose of releasing the more melodic industrial, or "Angelic Industrial" that exist in the underground industrial scene today. Some of their artists are Fektion Fekler, The Boy Who Saved Yesterday, In Hope Eternal and Coda Dolce.

2006.05.20 - ArcticFlame has just released their debut cd, "Primeval Aggressor" through Battle Cry Records of Germany. The album contains 8 songs which was produced by Jack Frost of Seven Witches and recorded at Gear Studios, owned and operated by DD Verni of Overkill. The band has opened for Motothead, Quiet Riot, Helloween, WASP, Stryper, Thin Lizzy, Michael Schenker, Ynqwie Malmsteen and just recently Gamma Ray.

2006.03.20 - Lacuna Coil is back in 2006 with a new album, Karmacode (coming out April 4th), to follow the huge success of their latest album, Comalies (2002). The first single, titled "Our Truth", is already out, and you can watch the video here.

2006.02.22 - Finnish female-fronted quintet Lullacry was back in 2005 with their latest full length album, pragmatically entitled Vol. 4. The band is guaranteed to continue winning over the hearts of worldwide fans of gothic heavy rock with the incredibly high quality delivered throughout these 40 new minutes of music.

2006.01.22 - Beseech is a Swedish heavy gothic metal band with male and female vocals. Recommended for fans of Lacuna Coil, Theatre of Tragedy and Within Temptation.

2005.12.09 - VIRUS! magazine is a new printed and online magazine about dark music, fashion and culture. Issue #1 was just recently released and it was well worth the wait.

2005.11.13 - Avmus is the musical project of artist John C. Miller. Starting out as a naked noise-rock project, over time it evolved into much more polished and structured avant-garde electro/pop. Visit the audio section of his website for a taste of his unique music.

2005.10.17 - Babylonia is a nice band from Italy, whose music is a fusion between pop, electro and rock. Their sound has been compared to one of their principal musical inspirations: Depeche Mode.

2005.09.27 - State of Being, an electronic/alternative band from Cleveland, Ohio, embodies music at its most dynamic, energetic, sophisticated and powerful — all at once. "Haywire," the group's third full-length studio CD, represents a level of proficiency that can only come from longevity.

2005.08.22 - Greenhorn Records is an independent label based in Michigan, USA. Their mission is to promote unheard music of underground artists. They are already doing that nicely with their compilation projects, check them out!

2005.08.08 - Dutch Gothic Rock band Within Temptation recently released a new single, "Angels" off their latest album "The Silent Force". Highly recommended for fans of Leaves' Eyes, Lacuna Coil and Evanescence.

2005.07.25 - Temple of Venus is an independent new wave band based in Italy. If you like, as they do, the music of Joy Division, The Cure, Ultravox and Echo & The Bunnymen have a look at their site... you will like it!

2005.07.04 - Attic Base recently unveiled a new version of their website, on the eve of the upcoming launch of their new album "Time again". Check out the Listen page for exclusive song previews.

2005.06.20 - Blutengel makes music filled with vampire-themed lyrics and sensual darkwave melodies.

2005.05.31 - Check out the common project of Terence Fixmer and Douglas McCarthy with the simple but meaningful name Fixmer/McCarthy.

2005.05.09 - MDM: 100% pure Canadian hard melodic cyberpunk band from Niagara, Ontario.

2005.04.25 - Nature, romance, love, and lyric encases one of the most marvelous voices found within the current European Rock scene: Welcome to the fantastic world of LEAVES' EYES! Lovelorn, the debut release of the sextet comprised by former Theatre of Tragedy vocalist Liv Kristine, as well as the current Atrocity line-up, captivates with wonderful harmonies, an epic atmosphere, and varied arrangements that embark the listener on a journey through the soundscapes of Rock.

2005.04.18 - MPEGRadio is a streaming site that offers 11 different genres. The Goth stream is particularly of interest, offering an excellent mix of goth, synthpop, electro, darkwave and industrial. Absolutely worth a listen!

2005.03.22 - Lollipop Magazine is a colourful music and underground culture magazine. Features reviews and all sorts of other cool stuff. Just check it out!

2005.03.01 - Gothic Revue - Excellent gothic website with tons of reviews, links, discussions, etc.

2005.02.14 - Dark Culture Magazine is an online magazine and forum for people who appreciate the darker side of life...

2005.01.31 - Astrovamps: "Goth is a love story and death rock is a porno! So don't be afraid... fuck someone tonight". These guys are wicked... Also check out this review of their latest album, Amerikan Gothick.

2005.01.24 - Amber Spyglass is a new dark alternative pop/gothic/ethereal rock act who are getting very good reviews. They released their debut album "Accelerating Parcae" not too long ago and it looks like pretty good stuff. Includes a cover of David Bowie's "I'm Afraid of Americans".

2005.01.17 - Indigo Lily Designs is a custom clothing design business based in Saskatoon, Sk, Canada. From corsets to Gothic clothing to Bridal gowns, designer Kimberly D. Wade has a good range and variety in her portfolio. Check out the galleries!

2005.01.10 - If you like Flash cartoons, Salad Fingers is definitely something worth checking out. The product of David Firth's (twisted) mind, there are five episodes of this wonderfully quirky creation. Enjoy!

2004.12.13 - Out of Line is a German label home to some well-known industrial, electro and darkwave acts, such BlutEngel, Decoded Feedback, Haujobb, Hocico, Icon of Coil and Negative Format to name only a few. They also have a mailorder store which includes a wide variety of titles. Unfortunately the site content is all in German, but the navigation is in English so it's still easy to get around and figure things out on the site.

2004.11.22 - With a name like Jack Off Jill, how could this band not be good? Their website features an Alumni roll of all the different band members over the years, complete discography and great merchandise store.

2004.11.08 - Common Dream is a electro-pop act from Poland. They started out like several other synthpop acts, playing Depeche Mode covers, under the name Oxygene before adopting the name Common Dream in 1996. Their album 'Gravity', released in 2003, contains 11 electro-pop tracks sure to please any genre fan.

2004.10.26 - Benedicte Sveinsson's project Computorgirl is described as melodic electronica. There are clips of the songs from the Computorgirl EP available on the site, as well as full downloads of some unreleased songs. Definitely worth a listen.

2004.10.19 - Anonymous Dream's music could be described as romantic dark rock with an electronic edge. They have just released their first album, "Brilliant & Dangerous", and all the songs are available on the website. So check 'em out!

2004.10.04 - Hanzel und Gretyl just stopped by in Saskatoon last night, as part of the Evil Doer Tour with Ministry and My Life With The Thrill Kill Kult. They delivered an excellent set, and were nice enough to talk with us fans, sign merchandise and even even came out of their tour bus in the freezing cold to chat with us. They have a new album coming out next week: Scheissmessiah, on Metropolis Records. Good stuff.

2004.09.28 - Most people would know Rammstein for the song Du Hast, which achieved mainstream success and got a lot of playing time. Germany's bad boys are just releasing their 4th album, 'Reise, Reise' this fall. And it looks like they're still able to deliver a few surprises with this album...

2004.09.21 - Opaq Face in a new synthpop band from Atlanta. Band members Jeremy Herskowitz and Rob Bishop got together in 2002 and recorded and produced the band's debut CD at Black Pearl Studio. Their latest release, an EP titled "Close Enough" was mastered at Corrosive Audio in San Francisco.

2004.09.15 - Alfa Matrix is a Belgian label involved in various styles of electronic music, including catchy synth pop tunes, female fronted bands mixing electronics, trip-hop and drum'n bass with a dark gothic attitude, intelligent industrial or yet power EBM. They are home to such artists as Aiboforcen, Ayria, Epsilon Minus, Glis, Hungry Lucy and several more.

2004.09.06 - SubSpace Communications is a Swedish label, the home of S.P.O.C.K., Covenant and Apoptygma Berzerk among others.

2004.08.31 - Vision System is a cool Swedish synthpop band who released their full first album, "Monochrome", a few months ago. Their sound is very clean and polished, and features amazing vocals, particularly on the last track "Love".

2004.08.24 - It's hard to describe Theatre of Tragedy's music. It blends some elements of doom metal, electronic sounds, piano, with both melodic female and harsh male vocals. They have a nice website, and even they they require users to register to their members area to be able to see their videoclips, these clips are worth it.

2004.08.17 - Dark Canada: Documenting the Great Dark North is a documentary currently in production by Stuck in Time Productions in association with Comatose Rose magazine. From Vancouver to Halifax, they will be exploring and documenting various aspects of the dark culture in each city they visit. Check out the website for more info!

2004.08.10 - Coming in a few weeks is an exciting event not to miss: A Different Drum Synthpop Festival, in Salt Lake City, Utah, on September 3 and 4, 2004. It will feature such well-established acts as Leiahdorus, The Echoing Green, Monolithic and Faith Assembly, as well as a new band showcase. Don't miss this event!

2004.08.03 - Dark Calgary is an excellent Gothic and Industrial resource, listing events, organizations, bands and businesses of interest to the local gothic and industrial communities.

2004.07.26 - Flaming Fish Music is a lot of things. It's a vehicle to support the Christian electronic underground music scene. It's a record label. It's an online store. It's the publisher of a quarterly print magazine, Automata. It's the host of a 24-hour web radio show. And overall it's an awesome web resource for the fans.

2004.07.19 - Unfinished Thought is a Goth/dark rock duo featuring female vocals, inspiring lyrics and passionate melodies. Goth, but with electronica, rock and even pop influences, making it more accessible. Highly recommended.

2004.07.12 - Second Shifters is one of the better dark music radio streams out there. They have a vast and diverse library, and listeners don't have to hear the same songs over and over again. Whether it be gothic, electronic, ebm, industrial, metal, or anywhere in between, you'll find it has a home on Second Shifters.

2004.07.05 - French synthpop duo Foretaste released a few weeks ago their first EP "Discordance" on A Different Drum. Judging by this release and the demo songs available on their website, we should very much be looking forward to a full album release.

2004.06.22 - Storming The Base is a good Canadian source for Industrial, Techno, Gothic, Electronic and Ambient music. Their fairly good selection of titles, mags, and t-shirts are available for decent prices for mailorder and retail. Worth a browse through.

2004.06.15 - Fiend Magazine is Australia's only dark alternative music and culture magazine. The website is simple, yet attractive. The magazine, well my first copy is still in the mail.

2004.06.07 - Comatose Rose Magazine is an excellent printed magazine, which features interviews, reviews and a lot more. Produced in Calgary (Canada), it also has a nicely layed out website where you can find latest news, and participate in the full-featured user community.

2004.05.31 - You cannot be a synthpop fan and not have heard of A Different Drum. In addition to their nicely-priced own label releases, ADD also carries in its online store a nice selection of other albums.

2004.05.25 - Darkwave duo Collide just released last week their fifth album, "Vortex", a 2-cd collection of remixes of songs from their last 2 albums. Check out their website for more info.

2004.05.17 - For anyone looking to buy some cool clothing and accessories, check out Cruella. This store, located in Montreal, accomodates both walk-in and online shoppers, and has an impressing selection of wicked awesome gear.

2004.05.10 - Voiceless is a most excellent L'Ame Immortelle fan site. It features the latest band news, complete discography, mp3 downloads and more.

2004.05.03 - Projekt is self-described as "America's premier ethereal / gothic / ambient label". Some of their artists include Android Lust, Black Tape for a Blue Girl, Lycia and Voltaire. Check it out!

2004.04.26 - Nilaihah Records is a small electronic label based in Columbus, Ohio. Artists on their roster include Null Device, Namnambulu, and Blind Faith and Envy, whose brand new release 'The Charming Factor' should be a very strong debut for the duo.

2004.04.23 - VampireFreaks.com is a site dedicated to gothic industrial culture. Lots of cool stuff to check out on there, including a pretty decent radio stream.

2004.04.22 - A Different Drum is a synthpop record label and online store operating from Utah (US). Definitely a place to check out for any synthpop music fan.

2004.04.20 - An interesting site featuring scene news, reviews, interviews and more, Choking on Sulfur needs to be updated more regularly though.

2004.04.19 - For anyone looking to buy some cool clothing and accessories, check out Cruella. This store, located in Montreal, accomodates both walk-in and online shoppers, and has an impressing selection of wicked awesome gear.

2004.04.16 - Saskatoon has its own Goth/Industrial event: The Underground (TUG). It is held twice a month at Walkers' Nightclub, and it a testament that the scene is alive and well in the city.

2004.04.15 - Comatose Rose Magazine is an excellent printed magazine, featuring interviews, reviews and a lot more. Produced in Calgary, it also has an awesome website with all the latest news, and a very nicely done user community.

2004.04.14 - Another recent discovery for me is The Cruxshadows. Their 2003 release, "Ethernaut", is amazing. It blends elements of goth and electronic with piano, violin and a perfect mix of the contrasting male and female vocals.

2004.04.13 - Lacuna Coil... my new favorite band in 2004. They're from Italy, and they rock. Some songs remind me of Evanescence, but overall I would say their sound is just slightly harder. Check them out!

2004.04.08 - We found this site of a magazine put together in Leeds, UK, that looks pretty wicked cool. It is called sins of the flesh. Currently researching for any ways to get our hands on any issue of it outside the UK...
